Ideal vs. Wrong Riders

Ronix One Blackout with One Gloss Midnight Wakeboard Package 2026

The Ideal Rider

The intermediate to advanced rider who wants the absolute maximum pop available. It’s for the rider looking to go as high as possible and wants the lightest board on the market to help them stomp technical inverts and high-rotation spins.

The Wrong Rider

True beginners learning to get up for the first time (Ronix Vault), riders who prefer a more predictable and smooth pop (Ronix RXT Blackout), or families looking for a "do-it-all" board that everyone from beginners to pros can share (Ronix District).

The Wakesports Crew Review

If the RXT Blackout is about speed and glide, the One Blackout is about raw, vertical power. This is the 20th year of the One series, and Ronix really went all out for 2026. Just like the RXT, this is part of the Blackout Series, making it one of the two lightest wakeboards in the industry. What makes the One unique is that 3-stage rocker—it has a later, more aggressive 'arc' at the wake that gives you that explosive 'buck' off the lip.

New for this year is the Pre-Tension Glass. They’re actually pre-loading the fiberglass before it goes into the mold, which makes the wakeboard feel incredibly snappy and reactive, but somehow they kept the landings feeling soft and predictable. We paired it with the One Gloss Midnight boots because they are the gold standard for support. They have an 8/10 flex rating, which is noticeably stiffer than the RXT boots. If you like a locked-in, 'racing' feel where your ankles feel completely supported during huge landings, this is the setup. Plus, the black-on-black Cordura shell is practically bulletproof and looks stealthy on the water.

BOARD Ronix One Blackout Technology Wakeboard

Board Overview

The Ronix One Blackout is the ultimate realization of Danny Harf’s legendary vision, now evolved for Tyler Higham’s high-flying style. Built with the industry-leading Blackout Technology, this board is so light it feels like an extension of your body rather than a piece of equipment. The aggressive 3-stage rocker is designed to reward riders who charge the wake with a vertical launch that is unmatched in height. By stripping away every unnecessary gram of weight, Ronix has created a board with a swing weight so low that 540s and 720s feel more like 360s. This isn't just a wakeboard; it’s a precision instrument designed for those who want to push the boundaries of what is possible behind a boat.

Board Tech Specs

3-Stage Rocker: An aggressive rocker line designed for an abrupt, vertical explosion off the wake. Blackout Technology: A secret, high-end construction that creates the lightest and most responsive ride in wakeboarding. I-Beam Construction: A carbon fiber wrap that enhances the snap and rigidity of the board. 4 Fiberglass 1.0” Ramp Fins: Provides superior edge hold while allowing for quick, clean releases. 4 Fiberglass 0.8" Free Agent Fins: Looser feel and lightweight for a more forgiving ride and playful for surface tricks. Speedwalls: Vertical urethane edges that maximize top-water speed and protect the board from damage. Low Friction Base: Developed to maintain speed into the wake and reduce drag on the water.

FAQ'S: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How does the One Blackout compare to the RXT Blackout? +
It comes down to the style of pop. The RXT has a continuous rocker for speed and a consistent pop, while the One Blackout Wakeboard has a 3-stage rocker for a more vertical, 'straight up' explosion off the wake. Both are the lightest wakeboards in the industry, but the One Blackout is for the rider who wants maximum hangtime.
What is the benefit of the new Pre-Tension Glass? +
It’s a game-changer for 2026. By pre-loading the glass fibers during construction, Ronix created a wakeboard that is stiffer and more reactive when you're cutting into the wake, but it still maintains the 'Mystery Core's' ability to absorb the impact for soft landings.
Why choose the One Gloss Midnight boots over the RXT boots? +
Support. The One boots are stiffer (8/10 flex) and provide more ankle stability. If you’ve ever had ankle issues or just prefer a 'locked-in' feel that doesn't allow for much lateral movement, these are much better for you than the more flexible RXT boots.
Does the 'Instant Energy 10' rating make the wakeboard harder to ride? +
Not at all! It makes it more reactive. It doesn't have a 'delay' when you hit the wake; it snaps back instantly. While this is amazing for high-level tricks, it means the wakeboard won't hide your mistakes as much as a 'Stored Energy' board like the One Legacy would.
Can I share this wakeboard with my friends on the boat? +
You can share the wakeboard but we wouldn't recommend sharing the boots. Since the One is a closed-toe boot with a heat-moldable Intuition+ liner, it’s meant to be a personal setup. If your buddies ride in it, they will pack out the custom-molded foam, and you’ll lose that perfect, anatomical fit. We recommend getting the Ronix Anthem BOA wakeboard boots to pair up with the One Blackout to be able to share amongst others.
Do I really need to heat-mold the One boots? +
To get what you're paying for, yes. The Intuition+ liner is designed to be custom-fitted to your foot shape. A 5-minute heat-mold at a shop (or at home) eliminates pressure points and ensures there’s zero 'dead space' inside the boot, giving you 1
