Why You’ll Love the Phase 5 OOGLE Wakesurf Board - Blue 2026

You will love the Oogle because it bridges the gap between stability and technicality. It’s the perfect board for the rider who wants to master surface 360s, big slashes, and airs without the "sinky" feel of a smaller skim board. While it’s forgiving enough for a total beginner to find their balance, it’s also the perfect platform for riders who want to stomp bottom turns and spins on a board that actually supports their weight and provides a stable, confident landing every time.

Ideal vs. Wrong Riders

Phase 5 OOGLE Wakesurf Board

The Ideal Rider

Riders who want a skim-style feel but need a little more "push" from the wave. It’s perfect for larger skim riders or anyone riding a smaller/mellow boat wake.

The Wrong Rider

Surf-style wakesurfers who want to bury the rail for deep carves and airs, or lightweight skim-style wakesurfers looking for the smallest, most flickable board possible for air shuv its.

The Wakesports Crew Review

When we hopped on the Phase 5 Oogle we noticed how much "push" this thing has. If you’ve ever felt like you were working way too hard to stay in the pocket on a skim board, this is the one you’ve been looking for. It has that big, stable longboard shape that lets you just relax and cruise, but it still wants to play the second you shift your weight.

Our blue and white one looks sick in the water, and knowing it's hand-painted means nobody else on the lake has the exact same design. The 2" fin is the sweet spot; it’s deep enough to give you a locked-in feel for a solid bottom turn, but it doesn't fight you when you want to break the tail loose for a 360. It’s just a fun, easy-riding board that keeps the session going, even when the wake isn't perfect.

FAQ'S: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can a total beginner ride the Phase 5 Oogle? +
Yes! It is arguably the most beginner-friendly skim board in the world. The extra length and surface area act as a "safety net," keeping you from falling out of the wave while you find your balance. It is the board most wake surf schools use to teach beginners their first few sets.
What makes the Oogle different from other skim boards? +
It’s the size. Most skim boards are small and thin, requiring a lot of work to stay in the wave. The Oogle is longer and has more surface area, making it much more stable and easier to "drive" down the line. It's the easiest skim board to stay in the wave on.
Why is the hand-painted design a big deal? +
Most boards use a printed graphic wrap. Because the Oogle is hand-painted, the blue and white patterns on your board are unique. It means your board is a "one-of-one," adding a custom shop feel to an affordable performance board.
Is the 2" fin on the Oogle too big for 360s? +
Not at all. While it’s bigger than a standard 1" skim fin, the 2" size is perfect for the Oogle because it provides the stability needed to stay in the wave. Because it's a thin skim-style fin, it still slides out easily when you put weight on your toes and initiate a spin. It’s the "best of both worlds" for stability and tricks.
Is the Oogle good for big riders? +
Yes. With a weight limit of up to 235 lbs, the Oogle is one of the best skim boards on the market for larger surfers who still want to do technical spins and skim-style tricks.
