Why You’ll Love the Phase 5 Rush Wakesurf Board 2026

If you’ve ever felt like you’re working too hard to stay in the wave, the Phase 5 Rush wakesurf board is your answer. It is designed to generate speed effortlessly. The pulled-in nose allows you to attack the lip at aggressive angles without the fear of "pearling" (diving the nose), while the new Twin Fin configuration provides a fast, "loose" feel that still holds a rail when you lean into a deep turn. It’s a sophisticated, high-speed surfer that rewards smooth, powerful riding.

Ideal vs. Wrong Riders

Phase 5 Rush Wakesurf Board 2026

The Ideal Rider

The surfer who wants a fast, "racy" feel. It’s for the surf-style rider who wants a board that does it all: speed, massive sprays, huge bottom turns, airs, reverts, and air 360s. The Rush is also a stable, beginner-friendly board for the newbies on the boat.

The Wrong Rider

Skim-style riders who want a thinner profile for surface spins and shuv-its.

The Wakesports Crew Review

We took the 2026 Phase Rush board out and the first thing we noticed is that the board carries so much natural speed that you never feel like you’re struggling to stay in the wave. The Twin Fin setup is the perfect match for this shape; it reduces drag and makes the board feel significantly more alive, allowing you to take control of the ride instead of the board taking control of you. We love how it handles transitions—you can bury the rail into a massive carve and then immediately pop a revert or an air 360 without the board feeling "sticky." This means it's incredibly forgiving if you don't land perfectly; there’s some give there to save your landings. It’s rare to find a pro-model board that feels this accessible to a beginner while still being a top-tier choice for advanced riders.

FAQ'S: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can a beginner ride the Phase 5 Rush? +
Yes, absolutely! While it’s a pro-level shape, the Rush has a stable outline that makes it very approachable. Because it carries speed so well and is incredibly stable rail-to-rail, it’s very forgiving for beginners who are struggling to stay in the wave. Its ability to generate natural "push" is a huge plus while you're learning to find the sweet spot, making it a board that will grow with you from your first session to your first air 360.
Phase 5 Rush vs. Phase 5 AKU - Which twin-fin wakesurfer should I choose? +
It’s all about "Versatility vs. Power." The AKU is built for raw, vertical pop and explosive vertical flight. The Rush is built to do it all—speed, big carves, and tech tricks like air 360s and reverts. Choose the AKU if you just want to go as high as possible; choose the Rush if you want the most versatile, high-speed board in the lineup.
Can I learn air 360s on the Rush? +
Definitely. Because of the Flightlite V2 construction (which is 20% lighter) and the Twin Fin setup, the Rush has a very low swing weight. This makes it much easier to spin in the air than a traditional, heavy surfboard. It is one of the best surf-style boards on the market for mastering technical air tricks.
Is the Phase 5 Rush good for smaller boat waves? +
One of the best. Because the Rush is designed for maximum down-the-line speed, it excels on waves that might lack "push." The wide midsection and Twin Fin setup minimize drag, allowing you to stay in the pocket of a smaller wake without having to pump constantly. If you're riding a smaller or older boat wave, the Rush is a top choice to keep you surfing longer.
Does the Twin Fin setup make the Phase 5 Rush feel "too loose"? +
Not at all. While a Twin Fin is naturally looser than a Quad, the Rush is designed with a longer rail line and a specific tail shape that provides plenty of "grip" when you're on edge. It feels "lively" rather than "unstable." The Twin Fin setup actually helps the board maintain its speed better than a 4-fin setup would, while still giving you the ability to break the tail loose for slashes and 360s when you want to. It’s the perfect balance of "traction" and "freedom."
