Can I leave my fins on inside the Dempsey bag?
Yes. The Dempsey is designed with enough volume to accommodate most surf-style fin setups. However, for long road trips or airline travel, we always recommend removing your fins and storing them in the internal pocket to prevent damage to the fins or the board's fin boxes.
Is this bag waterproof?
The 600D outer shell is highly water-resistant and will keep your board dry during a rain shower or on a damp boat deck. However, it is not a fully submersible waterproof bag. The built-in vents are actually designed to let moisture out so your board stays fresh.
Why should I buy the Dempsey over a cheaper board sock?
A board sock only protects against scratches and sun UV rays. The Dempsey protects against impact. If you drop your board on the pavement or it bangs against another board in the boat, a sock won't stop a ding, but the Dempsey's double padding likely will.
