BLACKBIRD - SUPERCONDUCTOR
QUICKER REACTION FOR EFFORTLESS PUMPING AND RECOVERIES
A hearth thumping new thrill ride. Named after its stealth aviation friend capable of speeds over Mach 3, everything about this board is meant for calculated reactiveness. Electricity under your feet unlike anything you have ever ridden involving something rarely said in the world of foiling - dense PVC foam. With the Blackbird we really wanted to put an emphasis on the reactivity of the construction. Most ocean surfboards, wake surfers are made with foam under 10 lb density. But a couple years ago we started experimenting with foil boards up to 6 times the density of most surfers. One of our riders said "this board feels like it's conducting its own energy" and the name Superconductor stuck. Our proprietary extra packed PVC foam mixed with a full carbon layup brings about energy we have never experienced in foiling. In high-end hydro foiling we feel that somewhere in that 3’8” to 3’10” length is the sweet spot for the length, but the real variable is volume. Some riders feel a thinner board will just create an even stronger connection between rider and board and prefer our slender 13-liter version. While others want a thicker profile 20-liter offering that will have more mass to deflect off the water and the extra padding below them slightly detunes the energy level to its thinner counterpart. A recessed deck sits the rider deeper into the board feeling secure while they begin a journey of tight turns and explosive pumps. Created for a rider that puts an emphasis on controlled power. The series hits harder and reacts quicker than its Ronix board siblings - or any other board out there. Enjoy the flight.
