Product Overview

The Official Uniform for the Next Generation of Pros.
Teenage years are about freedom, and the Ronix Driver's Ed vest provides exactly that. This is the most advanced teen CGA vest on the market, moving away from "flat" foam and into Ronix’s proprietary Capella 3.0 Cylindrical Fit. This 360-degree design curves to the body's natural shape, providing more rib protection and a thinner waist for maximum mobility. Utilizing 2-to-1 Foam (thicker in the chest for buoyancy, thinner in the waist for flex), this vest ensures that whether they are learning their first 360 or just driving the boat, they stay comfortable and mobile. With its Grey/Black aesthetic and longer torso cut, it’s the perfect bridge to adult gear.

FAQ'S: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

My son is 90 lbs; is he ready for the Driver's Ed or should I stay in a Youth size? +
At 90 lbs, he is at the perfect "crossover" point. If he has a longer torso, the Driver's Ed is the better choice because it offers the Capella 3.0 cylindrical fit which prevents the vest from "riding up" into his chin. However, if he is shorter/stockier, the Youth (50-90 lbs) size may still provide a more secure cylindrical wrap until he hits a true growth spurt.
What exactly is "2-to-1 Foam" and why does a teen need it? +
Ronix engineered this specifically for active riders. The foam is 2 inches thick in the chest for maximum buoyancy and safety, then tapers to 1 inch at the waist. This "Driver's Ed" design allows a teen to bend at the waist easily—critical for grabbing a wakeboard or sitting comfortably in the driver's seat—without the vest "bunching up" in the front.
Is the "Grey/Black" material different from the standard neoprene? +
Yes. This vest uses Nature's Neoprene paired with a Water Resistant Liner. While cheap vests soak up lake water and get heavy and saggy by midday, the Driver's Ed sheds water. This keeps the vest lightweight for the rider and ensures it’s dry much faster for the next session.
Does this vest offer any back support for long sessions? +
Surprisingly, yes. Because of the Capella 3.0 construction, the vest features Supportive Back Foam. It acts as a light lumbar support, which is a game-changer for teens who are spending hours on the boat or behind the rope, helping to reduce fatigue during a long day of riding.
Will this vest fit a girl in the same weight range? +
While it is technically Coast Guard Approved for anyone in the weight range, the Driver’s Ed is tailored for a more "V-shaped" masculine torso. For teen girls in this weight range, Wakesports recommends looking at the Laguna or Prom Queen series, which are tailored specifically for a feminine frame.
