A personal flotation device (PFD), or life jacket, may be the most important piece of equipment you’ll ever own. As a water sports enthusiast, you have to respect the water and understand the importance of safety. Life jackets and PFDs come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, materials, and designs, and choosing the right one is important. Spending a little time to determine which PFD to choose can save your life down the road, so take your time browsing through our selection. All of our PFDs are Coast Guard Approved however we do also offer the competition vests for the more serious wakeboarder.
The most common type of personal flotation device used for active water sports is the nylon-lined foam vest, also known as a buoyancy aid. Designed to allow maximum freedom of movement, the best buoyancy aids are anatomically cut and designed for superior comfort and ergonomics. These PFDs also require little maintenance and can last for years. Buoyancy aids are available in a variety of sizes, and are cut differently for men, women, and children. Vests designed for children may feature additional safety features such as a headrest flap intended to help support the head and keep it out of the water, or a crotch strap to prevent the vest from riding up or slipping off when worn in the water.
