View full detailsToday's market of towable water tubes is more exciting than ever, as manufacturers have really gotten creative with shapes, sizes, and designs. Each towable water tube offers its own unique riding experience, and we recommend you find one that best suits you and your family’s needs.
Here are some of the most popular types of towable water tubes available for you to purchase:
Towing water tubes behind boats offers a unique experience compared to towing campers or trailers behind vehicles. Unlike campers, which cannot be towed by a motorcycle, a water tube can be efficiently towed behind a jetski. This difference is largely due to the natural buoyancy of water, which supports the tube and allows it to float effortlessly while being propelled forward by the boat's engine. Interestingly, even human-powered propulsion is viable in this context. A determined kayaker or canoeist could tow a tube, although at a much slower pace, showcasing the versatility and ease of towing water tubes in various conditions.
In summary, nearly any boat is capable of towing a tube. However, it's crucial to note that for tubing to be genuinely enjoyable and ridden as designed, a specific speed must be maintained. Additionally, a boat must be equipped with the right towing features to ensure both safety and effectiveness during tubing activities. Most powerboats, such as pontoon boats, larger fishing boats, and ski boats, come properly equipped to provide a thrilling tubing experience. To fully understand your boat's towing capabilities, it's advisable to consult the manufacturer's recommendations regarding towing capacity and engine operations.
The optimal speed for towing water tubes primarily hinges on three elements: the type of tube, water conditions, and the preferences of the rider. For instance, banana tubes are best suited for low to mid-range speeds, whereas rocker tubes are intended for mid to high-speed rides. Smooth, calm waters allow for faster speeds across all types of tubes, whereas windy conditions and resulting swells necessitate a reduction in speed for safety and comfort. Generally, the ideal speed for most towable tubes falls between 10 and 20 miles per hour, striking a balance that caters to a wide range of tubing experiences.
For maximum safety, we always recommend boat owners to pull one to two tubes behind their boat.
While some people will try and attach two tubes by using different methods—such as connecting ropes to separate eyes at the boat's rear, attaching multiple lines to the same eye, or employing a towing rope that splits into a Y-configuration to accommodate two tubes, our opinion is that the heightened risk of collision and severe injuries is not worth the minimal added enjoyment.
Our selection of water tubes is categorized based on the number of riders they can accommodate, ensuring you find the perfect fit for your boating adventures. Our range includes:
Each category offers a variety of designs and features, catering to different preferences and ensuring everyone has a memorable time on the water.
