Kevin Mintz

Your Name? Kevin Mintz
Date of Birth? Febuary, 18 1995
Where do you live? Encinitas, CA
Favorite Spot to Ride? Without a doubt, Carlsbad Lagoon
Favorite Spot to Grub after riding? Karinas Taco Shop in Encinitas. The bomb burrito is so amazing, it’s unlike any other burrito in existence!
What is your weapon of choice(what gear you ride)? Liquid Force Witness 144, Liquid Force Vantages, Liquid Force Watson Vest
What is your favorite trick? Any poked out grab is super fun
Who is your favorite rider? I would have to say Raph Derome, just because he has so much style and finesse, especially when it comes to rails. Watching people like that who make it look so fun, like him, just makes me super stoked on wakeboarding.
What’s your favorite way to ride (cable, boat, winch, PWC)? I’ve really only ridden behind boats, so I’m down for anything with a decent wake.
What does riding for wakesports mean to you? It’s awesome that I can be supported by Wakesports, while supporting them back. They are for sure the sickest wakeboard shop ever! I rode at Wakesports at Carlsbad Lagoon for my very first time on a wakeboard and I was hooked on wakeboarding ever since. If it weren’t for Wakesports I wouldn’t have ever known how much fun wakeboarding is.
What’s an average day for you like? Honestly, I try to change up what I do every day, but for the most part my day by day goals are just trying to get in a little bit of wakeboarding, playing some guitar, jumping on the trampoline, skateboarding, hanging out with my friends and girlfriend, and EATING!
What do you do in your spare time when you’re not riding? Sleeping.
What are three things you could not live without? My phone, boat, and lots of food.
What are your expectations/goals for this sport/ next year? I just want to try to push myself way harder than I ever have before and get as many tricks as I possibly can, while still having as much fun with it as I always have.
What song do you listen to while riding that puts you in the zone? There are so many different songs and kinds of music that get me psyched, but just to throw one out there, Ghosts n’ Stuff (Nero Remix) by Deadmau5 gets me pumped up for wakeboarding forsure.
How did you get into wakeboarding/wakeskating? My dad just decided to take me and a couple of my friends down to the Carlsbad Lagoon one day about a year and a half ago and he bought us a couple hours worth of riding at Wakesports and I’ve been in love with the sport ever since.
Any new tricks you’re working on? There are a ridiculous amount of tricks that I want to get down right now!
What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever done in your sport? Brought as many people into wakeboarding as I possibly can and showed all of them what the greatest sport know to mankind is all about.
What would you say is your signature trick? I would have to say the Toeside 90 Tailgrab to face plant!
What do you want to be when you grow up? Hopefully something related to wakeboarding, maybe video/film or business, but to be completely honest I have no clue.
Any of your own web pages or social media buttons you want links to? Youtube, Vimeo, FB, Myspace, Twitter etc. etc. None at the moment
Any additional comments/ Shout outs you have? Shout out to Jason Allison for making it all happen for me and for teaching me everything that I know on a wakeboard, also to anyone and everyone else who has ever helped push me, motivate me,
